These Terms of Use govern the use of the The Finances app and website, offered by Jholdy Tecnologia Ltda - ME (CNPJ 27.694.217/0001-03). By using the app or the website, you agree to these terms.

1. What The Finances is

The Finances is a personal finance management app. The free plan includes all the essential financial organization features (transactions, accounts, categories, budgets, recurrences, multi-currency, voice entry, themes, and the 9 supported languages), with no quantity limits. The premium plan adds: cross-device synchronization, a shared financial space, advanced reports, data export, and smart budget alerts.

2. Sign-up and account

You do not need an account to use the app's free features. An account (login) is only required to enable premium features that depend on synchronization. You are responsible for keeping the credentials of the account used to log in (Google) confidential.

3. Use of the service

You agree to use The Finances only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. It is prohibited to: attempt to access other users' data without authorization; reverse-engineer the app beyond the limits permitted by law; use the service in a way that overloads or compromises its infrastructure.

4. Premium subscription

Premium subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play and managed via RevenueCat. Prices, billing cycle, and cancellation policy follow the rules of the app store used (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) at the time of subscription. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of any period already paid, except where required by law or by the policy of the respective store.

5. Your financial data

The Finances is local-first: the financial data you record stays, by default, on your own device. By enabling synchronization or a shared space (premium), you authorize the processing of that data by our servers as described in our Privacy Policy. In a shared space, you are responsible for deciding who invites and who you share that space with — we are not a party to the relationships between participants of the same space.

6. Intellectual property

The app, the website, the "The Finances" brand, and all original content (including blog posts) belong to Jholdy Tecnologia Ltda - ME or are licensed for its use. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works of the app or the website without prior authorization.

7. Disclaimer

The Finances is a personal financial organization tool — it does not constitute financial, accounting, tax, or investment advice. Financial decisions made based on information from the app are your sole responsibility.

The service is provided "as is." We make reasonable efforts to keep the app and the website available and error-free, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or fault-free operation.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate the access of a user who violates these terms, with reasonable notice whenever possible.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use to reflect changes in the product or in applicable law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated through a notice in the app or on the website.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The consumer's domicile is elected as the venue for resolving any disputes, in accordance with the Consumer Defense Code (Código de Defesa do Consumidor).
